Hey! Ever heard of the saying, “ Yum-Yum in my Tum-Tum”? Well, now I can guarantee that with the arrival of Yum Yum Korean bucket food truck in town!

The culture of food trucks is quite new in the streets of Kolkata, and the recent influx is quite commendable, honestly!

I guess I like the concept of food trucks as much as a cozy cafe, I find it quite engaging. Additionally, it fosters a strong sense of community.

From an entrepreneur’s perspective, it is quite a lucrative concept, as it requires minimal renovation and is mobile.

Moreover, as a self-proclaimed Korean food connoisseur, I had my eyes particularly on the Korean street food trucks on the streets of Kolkata, and guys! I think I have found a gem!

Kolkata has recently seen a rise in food trucks, and one of the most popular is Yum Yum Korean Bucket, which is on Jatin Bagchi Road.

In the evening, walk past Gariahat’s Doiwala, and you’ll notice a bright yellow truck parked on the side of the road.

At this truck, four friends wear matching yellow outfits and serve corn dogs and fried chicken to the city’s young crowd.

Moreover, if you prefer vegetarian options, try the Korean Street Toast, grilled bread with veggies and cheese.

Furthermore, you can also enjoy a Hasdogues, a deep-fried hot dog with swirls of cheese.

About The Owner: Who Owns Yum Yum Korean Bucket?

Argho Mukherjee, the founder and owner of Yum Yum Korean Bucket, shared that he grew up in the village of Tarapur, in Howrah

Then, he moved to Kolkata in 2010 to pursue an engineering degree at Seth Anandram Jaipuria College.

He remarked that this decision was his first step towards achieving everything he has accomplished today.

He also mentioned that while studying, he stayed at the Bharat Sevashram Sangha hostel in Ballygunge and expressed his gratitude to its general secretary, whom he described as his biggest supporter.

Argho noted that he started his first start-up, Bharat Engineering and Technical Trading Company, from the hostel.

There, he received encouragement to follow his passion for business rather than settling for a traditional 9-5 job.

He explained that his first start-up is still thriving, alongside Yum Yum Korean Bucket. Cheers to that!

Yum Yum Korean Bucket: My Detailed Experience

Yum Yum Korean Bucket_ My Detailed Experience

In my opinion, it was unexpectedly great. If I’m being honest, I was a little skeptical about trying Korean food from here, as I was concerned about its authenticity.

Moreover, I had been eyeing this one for quite some time, and I had to visit their food truck first. So I did my research and spoke to a lot of people.

What Did We Eat?

As I had visited the food truck all by myself, sad, I know! Anyway, I had ordered the Matcha Mango with mango popping boba, and it was really tasty, ngl.

I had also ordered the Bulgogi Rice Bowl and the Rakboki. The Rice Cakes could have been a little more chewy, but overall, they tasted good.

How Much Did We Spend?

I had spent a total of ₹1309. Was it worth it? No, I dont think so. You can see that the food is really good. I also liked the idea behind the startup and enjoyed the ambience as well.

However, the items are slightly overpriced. As a Korean food lover, I loved the whole idea, but I highly doubt a second visit, mainly due to the cost.

My Bill Break Up

ItemsPrices in INRGST
Matcha Mango with mango popping boba 349 17.45
Bulgogi Rice Bowl  399 19.95
Rakboki 499 24.95

How Was The Service?

The service was quite up to the mark, considering it had a really long queue. Argho was really sweet and accommodating, and he ensured that all the customers got their food as soon as possible.

Although I haven’t tried it myself, my friends who live nearby have also used their delivery service, and they have no complaints whatsoever.

How Was The Overall Ambience?

The Yum Yum Korean Bucket food truck in Kolkata, particularly the one located on Jatin Bagchi Road in Gariahat, is renowned for its vibrant and energetic atmosphere.

It’s a popular spot for younger crowds, with queues often forming as people line up to get their hands on the truck’s Korean street food, such as corn dogs and fried chicken.

While the food truck itself is a bright yellow and likely has a simple, functional interior, the overall experience is one of a lively and bustling street food scene.

Moreover, Yum Yum Korean Bucket is also renowned for its modern, vibrant, and lively ambiance, particularly at its outlets on Southern Avenue and Chinar Park.

The Chinar Park outlet, in particular, is described as having a cozy, refined, and elegant interior with warm lighting and tasteful decor.

While generally considered good, some reviews suggest areas for improvement in specific aspects or elements.

What Are People On The Internet Saying?

This was my experience that I have shared with you. Let’s see what people are talking about the Yum Yum Korean Bucket food truck.

“Small food truck serving Korean dishes at a reasonable price. The food is of good quality.  But if you visit them at peak hours and place your order, then you're not getting your food before 40-45 minutes.“ (5/5 ratings)

Review 1

“We took the combo of 1 with the wings and the Coke. The chicken was crispy and not dry and the sauce was really tasty. The price was also not too bad for the quantity, and it was shareable between two people. The servers were kind and nice. Definitely would visit again!” (5/5 ratings)

Review 2

“This is like the most overrated & overhyped place. Service is the worst, you have to wait for over 1 hour to get food.” (3/5 ratings)

My Takeaway

This is it, guys. I would never tell you not to try new things. This is a great idea, and there are people, including me, who absolutely love it.

Although there are some drawbacks, such as delayed service, poor food quality, and overpriced items, I am confident that if addressed, these issues can be rectified.

Furthermore, for me, other than the pricing, it was a 5/5 experience. Please visit once and let me know about your experience as well!
