If you are a fan of skincare content on social media, then I am very sure that you have stumbled upon the Skin1004 sunscreen. In fact, I came across so many glowing reviews, I thought I might as well try it out. Moreover, since my skin is oily, SPF has never really been my bestie, especially when it comes to obtaining a glowing skin.

For reference, before I used Skin1004’s sunscreen, my top choices for sunscreens were:

  • Untinted chemical/organic: Isntree Hyaluronic Watery Sun Gel SPF 50+
  • Untinted mineral: Summer Fridays ShadeDrops Mineral Milk SPF 30

On that note, let’s discuss this sunscreen that I have recently added to my daily skincare routine (yep, it’s pretty good!)

Stay tuned.

Skin1004 Sunscreen Ingredients:

The SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella sunscreen has three different kinds of Hyaluronic acid:

  1. Hyaluronic Acid at 0.01 ppm.
  2. Hyaluronic Acid at 1 ppm.
  3. Hyaluronic Acid at 10 ppm.

Apart from Hyaluronic acid, the other crucial ingredients in the product include:

  • Cica at 9800 ppm
  • Botanical extracts including Ginkgo Biloba, Wheat Sprout, Broccoli Sprout, and Green Tea

The majority of the product’s formulation is made up of moisturizing and hydrating ingredients. The moisturising ingredients include Caprylyl Methicone and Caprate/Caprylate. Similarly, the hydrating ingredients include Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, and Propanediol

Also, the product contains Niacinamide – an ingredient everyone is recently going crazy about. Also, the other ingredients that make up the rest of the formulation have been used for creating the ‘gel-cream’ portion to give the sunscreen a nice, lightweight texture.

What I Loved About Skin1004 Sunscreen?

If this is still not obvious, then let me spell it out – this is my current favorite sunscreen! All the glowing reviews on Instagram were speaking the truth! For only ₹879 on Amazon (and at a similar price range on Flipkart), currently, nobody can beat this product.

Of course, Korean brightening serums and sunscreens are expected to perform better, especially when it comes to the aesthetics. However, this product really does a fab job, particularly for people who have oily skin.

Having said that, there are two major benefits of this product – two benefits that make this sunscreen my ride-or-die.

1. It Is Pore-Friendly:

So, one of my biggest problems with using any new sunscreen or sun protection product is that they turn my skin into an exhausting and congested mess. But when it came to this SPF, it didn’t make any noticeable negative impact on the texture of the skin. Also, the product did not cause any inflammation or irritation.

In fact, I think this sunscreen has made my skin very happy. In fact, my skin has started to appear relatively smoother after I started using this product frequently. This shows that the previous sunscreen I was using wasn’t really doing a good job for my skin.

Plus, the texture of my skin has improved over a period of time. Moreover, it is vital to remember to double cleanse every day to get rid of the SPF.

2. Offers Extremely Lightweight Finishing:

I have seen this strange phenomenon. Every time I find a sunscreen that is lightweight, 8 out of 10 times, it turns out to be an Asian brand. And this product is no different. It’s lightweight, has excellent texture, and is an Asian product.

While it’s lightweight, it is still relatively thicker than Isntree’s sunscreen, which did feel more like a gel-based cream. However, it still gave my skin a natural, lightweight finish.

So, if you have been seeking a sunscreen that doesn’t feel very oily, then this product is an excellent option for you. As compared to Isntree gel-based watery sunscreen, this one is more dewy – but then not entirely dewy. It’s literally standing at the center of the natural-to-dewy spectrum, perfectly suitable for people with oily and combination skin types.

However, if you use a facial oil or a moisturizer before applying this product, then your skin will retain its dewiness. This is because the Skin1004 sunscreen doesn’t contain any ingredients that will soak up the oil and mattify your skin.

Also, it is vital to mention that I didn’t experience any kind of eye sting after applying the product.

What I Hated About Skin1004 Sunscreen?

In my reviews, I usually aim for a certain level of balance. In a majority of product reviews, I have seen that the packaging tends to be somewhat disappointing. This is because most products packaged in tubes stop working when there’s 1/4th or 1/3rd of it left – and you will find yourself squeezing the tubes at different angles to get to the very bottom of it.

However, this is not the problem with the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella sunscreen. In fact, the tube is able to create a vacuum that pulls out the last bits of the product entirely. Of course, I ended up cutting the tube to get the last bit out – but that is so much better than squeezing traditional tubes for optimal use.

For me, the formula was excellent. The packaging was perfect, and the whole experience? GREAT! So, I literally don’t have any negatives to talk about now!

Is the Skin1004 Sunscreen Worth The Hype?

Is the Skin1004 Sunscreen Worth The Hype

The Skin1004 sunscreen is honestly my favorite sunscreen at the moment! From the finish to the formula, I just can’t get enough of this sunscreen. In fact, it is one product I prefer using every day.
