Melon Ticket, the official ticketing platform for the much-awaited SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in SEOUL, said on December 11 that Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon would not be performing at the event, which is a shocking development for K-pop fans.

The statement from Melon Ticket said, “We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this adjustment. The customer support department will handle refunds and cancellations of tickets without charging cancellation costs.

Although Taeyeon’s absence was not explained, fans are making assumptions regarding potential scheduling challenges or health issues. The original concert lineup promised a thrilling display of SM Entertainment’s biggest stars.

Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Key and Minho from SHINee, Suho and Chanyeol from EXO, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, aespa, RIIZE, and Hyoyeon from Girls’ Generation are among the confirmed performers.

There are also plans for other members of SM’s extended family to participate, including SMTR25, Mar Vista, SM Jazz Trio, Min Jiwoon, Naevis, and Raiden. The Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul will host the SMTOWN LIVE 2025 concert on January 11 and 12, 2025

Fans from other countries can watch the event live online via Beyond LIVE and Weverse. Taeyeon is staying active even if she was not present at the concert.

Letter to Myself, her sixth mini-album, was just released on November 18 and delighted fans. The CD, which has gotten positive reviews worldwide, features her emotive vocals.
