BLACKPINK JUMP marks a new chapter for BLACKPINK after a three-year break during which each member focused on solo projects.

JENNIE acted in The Idol, while ROSÉ and LISA found success with their solo music.

BLACKPINK hasn’t released new music since their song “The Girls” in 2023, which was featured in Blackpink The Game.

Before that, they released the album Born Pink in 2022, which topped the Billboard 200 chart.

You can now find “JUMP” on all major streaming platforms.

What’s Different About Blackpink JUMP?

BLACKPINK is back with their new single “Jump,” their first release in two years since “The Girls,” the song for their mobile game in 2023.

The pop group gave fans a sneak peek of “Jump” during the opening night of their Deadline World Tour in South Korea on July 5.

“Jump” shows Blackpink’s new, edgier sound. The song combines hardstyle intensity with catchy beats and guitar riffs that feel like they belong in a Western film.

Each member—Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa—showcases their vocal talents, and the group’s label, YG Entertainment, says that “Jump” mixes Blackpink’s unique style with bold experimentation.

This gives fans a fresh experience.

The song celebrates independence, written by top talents including Teddy and Diplo. Rosé and Jisoo sing, “I’m not that easy to tame.”

The tempo changes as Jennie and Lisa invite listeners to “jump,” creating excitement as the girls embrace their friendship and their freedom.

The music video, directed by Dave Meyers, starts with the members in front of a mural of themselves.

While they sing, “So come up with me, I’ll take you high / That prima donna spice up your life,” they draw a crowd in the city streets.

As the beat drops, everyone starts moving to the song. The editing and dance moves match the high energy.

This is highlighted by Rosé’s powerful solo scene, where she walks up a slanted road while the crowd moves down, symbolizing the struggle against challenges.

At the end, the girls land on a heart-shaped stage and say their famous line, “Blackpink in your area,” before finishing the performance.

Blackpink JUMP Lyrics 9

BLACKPINK in your area

뛰어

뛰어

We love BLACKPINK as 4. But it’s painful to see Jisoo getting the least support. She deserves more. Please listen to fans!!!!”

“It doesn’t feel like black pink at all. I am not saying they shouldn’t try new things, but every group has some elements that scream insert group name. This is the first come back in a long long time and it didn’t feel like blackpink”

“I think the mv ruined it for me, maybe I’d enjoy it more without the mv, lol. the mv is way too busy and the gen AI usage is just really painful on the eyes. ~_~”

“I like it, but definitely not my favourite song from them. Probably an unpopular opinion, but this sounds like a pre-release song and it makes me yearn for an official single. Another unpopular opinion, the MV is entertaining and I think it’s intentionally ridiculous. The weird AI things like in the scene where they’re running made me chuckle.”

“Way too much CGI and AI but I really did enjoy the song and not a typical BP/Teddy song.”

“I really enjoyed the music video as well as the track. I got chills watching the synchronized mob part. The sound was also a stand out because it broke free from the YG formula. It totally separates itself from their previous releases which Ive been praying for years. It totally exceeded my expectations”

My Takeaway

With all due respect, what is this BLACKPINK

I agree with the comment that says this doesn’t feel like Blackpink. I believe they can try new things, but every group has elements that clearly represent them.

This is their first comeback in a long time, and it didn’t feel like Blackpink.

I am stating this as a BLINK and as a K-pop fan, the lyrics are really easy, basic, with little to no quirk.

Did it seem like they weren’t in the same room when they filmed? It felt like they shot their parts separately and put them together for the music video.

This really bothered me. The music video also didn’t follow the usual Blackpink style. The choreography looked lazy to me.

Oh, how can I even forget about this! There were no dance scenes! Lisa, are you there? There are no real dance scenes except for the dancers bobbing their heads.

They filmed outside for a change instead of using their amazing sets, which I didn’t like either. Plus, the heavy use of AI made the music video feel cheap. I’m not sure how to explain it.

The song sounds very much like Kidz Bop. It feels outdated, like it’s from the 2010s. It’s not Diplo’s best work. I really prefer Blackpink’s older music.
